This document includes images of properly installed cameras to guide installers in positioning cameras for the best viewing experience. By following these visual references, installers can achieve optimal camera views and reduce the need for future adjustments.
To achieve optimal camera views, the camera's mode, tilt and pan settings must be configured for a specific venue. Incorrect adjustments and settings can result in calibration problems, tracking inconsistencies, and overall a poor viewing experience for customers.
Mode - The camera's mode setting, represented by a number from 1-6 adjusted on a bracket at the top and bottom of the Pixellot camera, determines how wide the two lenses are pointed from each other. Refer to the chart for mode setting guidance for the Pixellot S2 camera, but be ready to make additional modifications to these values as necessary, considering the layout of the field and court.
Tilt - The tilt, adjusted from the angle bracket between the camera head and the mounting arm, determines the gap at the bottom and top of the field.
Pan - The pan sets the horizontal orientation of the camera to capture the entire playing field within the field of view
Football Fields
- The camera's installation location should be centered with the 50-yard line, if possible.
- Adjust the mode setting to reduce the extra field of view space and achieve a more focused image of the field.
- Adjust the camera's tilt to display a slight gap between the playing area and the bleachers on both sides.
- Adjust the camera's pan angle to complete any necessary horizontal adjustments.
Gyms
- The camera's installation location should be aligned with the mid-court line, if possible.
- Adjust the mode setting to reduce the extra field of view space and achieve a more focused image of the court.
- Adjust the camera's tilt to display a slight gap between the playing area and the bleachers and/or stage on both sides.
- Adjust the camera's pan angle to complete any necessary horizontal adjustments.
Baseball & Softball Fields
- For baseball and softball setups, the pitcher's mound should be roughly in the middle of the frame.
- Adjust the camera's tilt to show the entire field, including the outfield, and with the foul lines being as close the the edge of the camera's frame.
- Adjust the camera's pan angle to complete any necessary horizontal adjustments.
- Baseball and softball fields generally use Pixellot's single camera S2S model but, the S2 camera can be installed here as well.
- If an S2 Camera is installed on a baseball/softball field, the mode setting should ALWAYS be set to 6. Then adjust the tilt and pan as necessary.
