Recommended Equipment for Adding Announcers to your Pixellot Setup

Adding announcers to your Pixellot broadcasts can enhance the experience for your viewers and subscribers. Below, we have a list of recommended mixers, headsets, audio cables, and a USB Audio Interface option that you can purchase to allow for announcer/external audio.   • The Pixellot camera has a pair of built in microphones for natural sounds to be recorded during broadcasts. The NFHS Network does not supply any additional audio equipment.

 

Recommended Mixers

  • Multi-announcer Setup
    • This setup is recommended if you have more than one announcer, or plan to have more in the future.
    • You can either connect this mixer to the Pixellot computer via the USB cable (below) or using the XLR to 1/8" cable at the bottom of this article. 

** This product has a power supply that requires being connected to a power source when in use.

  • Single-announcer Setup
    • This setup is recommended if you have just one announcer at a time. 
    • You can either connect this mixer to the Pixellot computer via the USB cable (below) or using the RCA to 1/8" cable at the bottom of this article. 

** This product requires a USB connection for power. However, you can use the USB cable (listed) for power and audio connections, if you plug the mixer into the Pixellot Computer directly – no need to use a separate audio cable.

Recommended USB Audio Interface

  • If you prefer to use a USB connection instead of analog, the Behringer U-Phoria UMC202HD is the recommended interface. Other USB interfaces (such as the "StarTech 7.1 External Sound Card) may work, but they are not officially supported.
