When a venue does not have access to a hard-lined internet connection, a Point-to-Point (P2P) system will need to be installed in order to stream live events from your Pixellot camera. Below we have listed the steps to install the Tycon Wireless EZ Bridge 2.4Ghz. We have also attached and linked the manufacturer's resources for additional support.
P2P Disclaimers
- DO NOT connect these dishes directly to a PoE enabled switch, this will damage/fry them!
- DO NOT connect to a PoE enabled switch from the LAN port on the POE injector, this can also damage the dishes!
- DO NOT connect power to the PoE injector until ALL cables have been run and connected first.
*If connecting to a suspected PoE enabled switch, coordinate with the IT department to make sure that the switch is not PoE enabled or the port has PoE disabled.
PoE Converter
Tycon EZ-Bridge should not be directly connected to a PoE switch for power. Doing so will damage the dish.
In order to directly connect the EZ-Bridge to a PoE enabled switch, a 802.3af/at to 24V Passive PoE converter must be installed in place of the PoE injector.
Disclaimer: The PoE converter and Tycon dishes are shipped separately. The PoE converter should be included in another accessory shipping box. Ensure that you locate all the parts before proceeding with the installation.
How to Install the Tycon Wireless EZ Bridge 2.4Ghz
- Unbox and inspect for any damage the packages could have received while shipping.
- Mount the transmitting dish bracket to the wall. You may have to bend the bracket if you do not have a direct angle to the press box.
- Mount the ‘A’ side dish to the transmitting dish bracket using a bolt, a tooth washer, a split lock washer, and a wingnut. The ‘A’ side dish should be installed on the school side
- Once the ‘A’ side dish is mounted, take off the bottom plate and plug in the ethernet cable in the port furthest from the LED strip. This cable will run to the port labeled PoE on the PoE injector.
- Locate the PoE injector and plug in the PoE cable that runs to the dish.
- Plug in the LAN cable. This will run to the internet source. If plugging into a switch, make sure it is not a powered switch or the dish unit will be fried. If connecting to a switch, you will need a PoE converter in place of the PoE injector.
- Plug the PoE injector into the power source.
- Repeat this step for the receiving dish on the ‘B’ side. The LAN port will connect to the computer.
- You should hear one beep to signal power and shortly after two beeps to indicate they have fully booted.
- The dishes are plug-n-play and should now be sending a network connection to the computer.

LED Indicator
There are a total of 6 LED light indicators on the dishes. From left to right:
- Power - Solid green when connected to a power source.
- Ethernet - Flashing green when locally connected to another device (from "LAN" on PoE injector).
- Poor Signal Strength
- Okay Signal Strength
- Good Signal Strength
- Excellent Signal Strength
Web Interface
The dishes have a default IP address:
"A" Side dish: 192.168.1.139
"B" Side dish: 192.168.1.239
To make any network changes to the dishes, you will need to access the web interface known as the Tycon Discovery Tool. Refer to the manufacturer’s guide titled EZ-Bridge-LT quick install guide located at the bottom of this guide for additional information.
To access the dishes via the web interface, you will need a laptop that is locally connected to any of the dishes. You will need to find the IP of each dish in order to use the web interface. Tycon has a tool that will "find" the dishes on a local network and allow you to log into the web interface.
Below is a list of needed software on the laptop:
- Tycon Discovery Tool: https://tsi.tyconsystems.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=174&Itemid=882
- Java Download: https://www.java.com/en/
Accessing Dishes with Tycon Discovery Tool
- Download and install the Tycon Discovery Tool along with Java on your laptop.
- Connect your laptop via ethernet to the same local network as the dish. From the "LAN" on the PoE injector or directly to the open ethernet port on the dish.
- Run the Tycon Discovery Tool and select 'Discover Devices.'
- Connect to the detected EZ-Bridge device with the default username: EZTEAM and password: link4me
