3rd Party RTMP Connection to The NFHS Network

Please follow this guide to assist with getting your 3rd party streaming encoder connected to The NFHS Network

 

  1. Navigate to the settings menu and find the "Custom RTMP" option 
  2. Locate the "Server Address" or "Server URL" text box and the "stream key" or "broadcast key" text box. (The verbiage is interchangeable and depends on the type of device or application.)
  3. Under Server Address, copy/paste the following: rtmp://video.nfhsnetwork.com/manual/
  4. For the Stream key (or broadcast key), click NFHS Network Events Console and find your event 
  5. Click your event to go to the "Event Detail Page". 
  6. Scroll down and click the "Live Streams" video thumbnail to go to the "Broadcast Detail" page
  7. Copy the Broadcast ID in the Broadcast Detail page 
  8. Paste the Broadcast ID into the Stream key (or broadcast key) text box. 
  9. Click OK
  10. Start Stream
  11. Go back to your event in the NFHS Consoles Broadcast Detail Page and click the Production Tab
  12. Hit Play on the Video player and you should see the message "Your event will begin momentarily"

LiveStream Setup

Prerequisites

  • Console Login

Notes:

  • Can work on PC or Mac
  • There no is 3rd party support for this.
  • Can use any capture device (Except StarTech on MAC)
  • Needs to be manually started in Console.

Setup

In LiveStream

  • Step 1: Open Livestream Studio
  • Step 2: Click on ‘Stream’ tab.
  • Step 3: Click ‘Change Provider’.
  • Step 4: In the drop-down menu select RTMP.
  • Step 5: Click ‘Select’.
  • Step 6: Fill in the RTMP URL.
  • Step 7: Select ‘Show Quality Settings’.
  • Step 8: Check the ‘Authorization’ button.
  • Step 9: Fill in the User Credentials.
  • Step 10: Fill in the Stream Name. This will be the Live Stream ID from Console.
  • Step 11: Paste the Live Steam ID into ‘Stream Name’ Field and click Go Live.
  • Step 12: At the top of your screen click the record button. (In case you have to do a manual upload later.)
  • Step 13: Start the production in console.
